| Kal
Beach is one of the most easily
accessible and one of the most popular sandy beaches on Kalamalka
Lake in the area of Coldstream which is located south of downtown
Vernon, BC in the North Okanagan Valley. The 300 foot sandy beach
is a popular destination in the region for swimming, volleyball,
picnicking and boating.
Kal Beach runs along Kalamalka Road, separated
from the road by a metal fence. At one end of the beach is a convenience
store and on the other end is a restaurant. And in the summer
a concession stand operates in the middle servicing the many families
visiting the beach.
A washroom and change room building is open in
the summer. The large wooden pier and the roped off swimming area
are the centre points of attention on the beach. And then there
are picnic tables scattered along the top - some in the shade
of trees, others exposed to the sun.
The parking lot is on the opposite side of Kalamalka
Road on Husband Road. Continue further down the road is the popular
hiking and sandy beach park called the Kalamalka Lake Provincial
Park.
